We’ve talked about it for some time, and now it’s here: the official Lawyer.se videogame!
Commissioned by Lawyer.se and created by a group of talented students at Ädelfors Folkhögskola (Folk High School in English), Super Lawyer is a puzzle game where players get to follow two superheroes who travel across the globe to help clients with their legal problems.
The game takes players from Åre, Sweden, to New York and Buenos Aires. With them, they have their sidekicks — two cute dogs — who are there in case the player needs some help.
Super Lawyer began in the Indie Game Studio course at Ädelfors Folk High School. Three groups of students were allowed to create a mockup of what a Lawyer.se videogame could look like, based on the firm’s values and mission. Once one of the mockups was selected, all students in the class collaborated to bring the game to life.
Late last year, we spoke to Jessica Lycker, teacher and course leader of the Indie Game Studio course at Ädelfors Folk High School, who told us that the project benefited the students.
“Some students want to start their own studio, while others want to find a job at an established studio or further their education in a vocational program. If that’s the case, it’s beneficial to have worked on a real-life case like this for a company,” she said.
In February, we also caught up with Fredrik Nilsson, a student at Ädelfors Folk High School and project manager on the first stages of the project. He shared how the team came up with the idea for the game:
“We had a few themes that are core to Lawyer.se’s mission, like excellence, honesty, timely, safety and inclusive, that we knew we wanted to incorporate,” he said. “We also knew that Lawyer.se is a global brand and that the people playing this game might not all be seasoned gamers, so we wanted to create something that was easily recognizable, both in graphic style and in what the player is supposed to do. So, we ended up with a story largely advanced through puzzles, with the aesthetics of a superhero world like Marvel or D.C. Comics. It was really all about introducing Lawyer.se as a company that takes care of its clients and clears a path through any obstacle.”
