\u00ab2024, with Gamescom latam specifically, I think can be an inflection point history,\u00bb said Lucas Rossi, lawyer at Lawyer.se who lives in Buenos Aires, Argentina. This year, he has noted that people in the industry are beginning to talk more about and explore what makes a game \u00abLatin American\u00bb or \u00abArgentinian.\u00bb And studios are taking more pride in being a videogame studio in Latin America. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u00abIt’s like they’re saying, ‘We can also make video games’ and proudly say they’re from here,\u00bb Lucas explained. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
At the same time, the global videogame market hasn’t paid much attention to Latin American videogame players. But according to Lucas, a shift might be happening here, too. There have always been videogame players in Latin America, he said, but because many countries on the continent aren’t strong economic powers, they’ve sometimes been dismissed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u00abI think this will change soon,\u00bb he said. \u00abThere are a lot of videogames coming out that proudly state they’re from Latin America.
